ABOUT US

COMMUNITY LIFE CENTRE

Founded by Rev. Siva & Pastor Rani Moodley in 1999, Community Life Centre is a multifaceted organization based in the impoverished area of Welbedacht East. The Welbedacht area comprises of informal settlements as an RDP settlement and is therefore a society ravaged by poverty.

Community Life Centre embarks on the following projects:

Phumula Children’s Care Village provides residential care for orphaned and vulnerable children. It was established to shelter children who are either abandoned, homeless or orphaned mainly due to HIV/Aids which is prevalent as the direct social impact of economic struggle in lower income communities.

Go-go home initiative: CLC also supports an additional forty orphaned children through the “Gogo home initiative”. These are children that are not placed at the orphanage but rather reside in their homes under the guardianship of their grandmothers.

Jabula Skills Village creates job opportunities to the women in the community by teaching the skill of craft work. They can sell their beadwork in the local markets and receive an income to support themselves.

Welmont School of learning an early childhood development centre for orphan and vulnerable children of Welbedacht, this school caters to Fifty children and is registered with the Department of education.

Hospice caters to the medical needs of orphan and vulnerable children, We are working together with the department of Health on the final stages of registration for the hospice.

program aims at educating youths about life skills as well as discussing the many challenges they

face as teenagers.

Mountain Outreach Project-Khanishwa is an Early Childhood Development Centre and a clinic for the children of Khanishwa

Graduation Centre has built a home for the children that will matriculate and be receiving tertiary education or those that have turned 18 but are still in matric. Most of these children have no one, their only option is the streets. House of Hope to create leaders in society by encouraging tertiary education.

A Clothing & Leather Factory has been fully installed to teach and create job employment in the Welbedacht area, however we are still seeking volunteers to teach/lecture. We would also like to use this project to sustain the organization.

Life Skills Centre is youth development centre where programs such as dance, drama, and voice will be made available. We also plan to tackle the current issues facing our youth today such as social issues which is diverting

our youth away from constructive participation within society.
