A total of 420 easter hampers  were lovingly prepared and served to the children who attended. As they entered the city they were seated and welcomed with warmth, making them feel special and valued. the room was soon filled with laughter as games were played, songs were sung and smiles slowly replaced the sadness many of them carried daily. For a few precious hours, these children were able to forget their struggles and simply enjoy being children again. Sometimes we forget that a single easter egg can make all the difference in a child's life.  What may seem small to us can bring, joy, excitement and a sense of being remembered to them. We tried to give these children a glimpse of the easter many of us experience in our homes. For many of them these simple acts of kindness became unforgettable moments. One little boy held onto his meal as if it were treasure, saying he wanted to save some for his younger sibling at home. A young girl hugged her hamper tightly to her chest refusing to let go because she hadn't received anything this easter. These moments touched every heart present and reminded us how many families are silently suffering. After the games and fellowship upstairs, the children were guided downstairs where they received their easter hampers. Each hamper was carefully prepared with love and generosity. Some worked tirelessly behind the scenes, organising, packing and preparing every hamper to ensure no child left empty handed. Their kindness and sacrifice became the hands and feet of compassion on that day.
